4. CLINICAL DATA
4.1 Destination species
Cats
4.2 Indications for use, specifying the target species
For cats with, or at risk of, parasitic infestations mixed by ticks and fleas, lice,
mites, gastrointestinal or filarial nematodes. The veterinary drug is indicated
exclusively when the use is indicated at the same time against ticks and one or more of the others
target parasites.
Ectoparasites:
- For the treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides spp.). The
veterinary drug has immediate and persistent activity against new infestations
by fleas for 5 weeks. The product kills adult fleas before laying eggs
for 5 weeks. Through its ovicidal and larvicidal action, the veterinary drug can
help control infestations of existing environmental fleas in areas to which the animal
has access.
- The product can be used as part of a treatment strategy for dermatitis
allergic to fleas (DAP).

- Treatment of infestations by ticks. The veterinary drug has acaricidal effect
Immediate and persistent for 5 weeks against Ixodes ricinus and Ixodes hexagonus, and 4
weeks against Dermacentor reticulatus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus.
- Treatment of ear mites (Otodectes cynotis).
- Treatment of biting lice infestations (Felicola subrostratus).
Ticks must adhere to the host and begin feeding to expose themselves to sarolaner.
Nematodes
- Treatment of adult roundworms (Toxocara cati) and adult intestinal hookworms
(Ancylostoma tubaeforme).
- Prevention of filariasis caused by Dirofilaria immitis with monthly administration.
4.3 Contraindications
Do not use in cats that are suffering from a concomitant disease, or that are weakened and with
low weight (for your size and age).
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substances, or to any excipient.
4.4 Special warnings for each target species
It is recommended, in accordance with good veterinary practice, that all animals of 6 months of age
age or older living in countries where the vector exists, should be examined to determine the
infection by adult forms of heartworm before starting preventive use with the drug
vet.
This veterinary medicinal product is not effective against adult forms of D. immitis. The administration to
animals with filariasis did not pose safety problems.
Although not indicated routinely, the potential benefits of performing in individual cases
Periodic tests of filarial infection should be considered by the responsible veterinarian.
It is necessary that the ticks have started feeding on the host to be
exposed to sarolaner; therefore, the transmission of infectious diseases by ticks can not
be excluded.
4.5 Special precautions for use
Special precautions for use in animals
The use of this veterinary drug is indicated in cats of at least 8 weeks of age and weight
minimum of 1.25 kg.
This veterinary medicinal product should only be applied to the skin. Do not administer orally or
parenteral
Do not apply if the animal has wet hair.
For the treatment of ear acariosis, do not apply directly to the ear canal.

It is important to apply the dose as indicated to prevent the animal from licking or ingesting the
product. If significant ingestion occurs, effects on intestinal transit can be observed
as hypersalivation, emesis, soft stools or reduced consumption of food that should be resolved
usually without treatment.
Keep treated animals away from fire or other sources of ignition for at least 30
minutes or until the hair is dry.
Specific precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to the
animals
The product is harmful after ingestion. Keep the product in the original packaging until its
use, to prevent children from having direct access to the product. The pipettes used must be
