Oral solution for the treatment of urinary incontinence associated with urethral sphincter incompetence in female dogs .
The effect is to cause an increase in muscle tone and stabilization of urethral closure that prevent involuntary urine is removed .
The most specific indication is Propalin treating urinary incontinence secondary to castration , the most common cause of incontinence . It has shown its effectiveness in females without uterus or ovaries.
The improvement is seen immediately , usually within the first week . This disease has no cure therefore must be given medication for life , making adjustments as necessary during the course of treatment . Propalin is not indicated to treat cases of altered behavior or inappropriate urination, when dogs urinate voluntarily disallowed sites .
In females under one year should be discarded anatomical changes before starting the treatment .
Precautions : Propalin is a sympathomimetic ( Phenylpropanolamine ) . Like other drugs of this type , it is well tolerated but may cause side effects on heart rate .
It should be used with caution in animals suffering from cardiovascular disease , renal failure or severe hepatic impairment.
Never give to pregnant or lactating females .
It comes in a plastic bottle 30 ml with safety for children.
Includes a syringe adapter , a graduated syringe of LDPE .
